For a lot of people, Christmas shopping starts in the boxing day sales. Okay, so you have to keep the gifts stashed away for a year, but it’s worth it. The best sale ever is the Boots after Christmas sale where everything goes down to 75% off. Then is it still doesn’t sell, you can pick things up for 90% off.
Summer sales are really good too. Shops are clearing their warehouses ready for the new Christmas stock to come in. Superdrug often reduces Christmas gifts to 49p or £1 in the summer. So you can get £80 gift sets for £1.
Make The Most Of 3 For 2 offers
This is best if you are buying toys for the kids. You can buy the toys that they want and save some money on 3 for 2. Even in Argos, they sell toys 2 for £15, which often includes Lego
Supermarkets often sell smellies and beauty gifts on a 3 for 2 offer. This is perfect for family gifts or teacher gifts.
Use Apps Where You Get Free Things
You can get apps now where you buy things and get money back after you have reviewed them. This is a good way to pick up little bits and pieces. You can then put them aside to make a hamper. Whether it is a food hamper or a beauty one, it will all be free but will look lovely as a gift.
Use Your Store Loyalty Cards
Store loyalty cards are a godsend! you can collect points on them all year round and then use them to buy gifts at Christmas. Whether you own a supermarket card or a drug store one, they all let you save points up to spend. Whilst some shops have a scheme where you have to pay for the whole product in points, others let you pay part points and part cash. Some loyalty cards, like Sainsbury’s, have a scheme where you can use their points with partner companies like Argos. So there is more choice for spending the points.
Sign Up For Survey Sites
You can sign up for survey sites and then complete surveys. These sites then give you points that you collect in order to buy a shopping voucher or gift card. The more surveys that you do, the more points you earn and the bigger the reward at the end. These are a great way to build up cash whilst you are at home doing nothing. But they are very time consuming and sometimes you get halfway through and find you are not eligible for the survey. That’s annoying!
Second-Hand Sites
Whether you use eBay, Vinted or Facebook Marketplace you can grab yourself some real bargains for Christmas. It is usually about now that people start selling new and wrongly purchased items on second-hand sites. So you can get an awesome bargain to put away with Christmas. Usually, with little kids, you can get away with a second-hand toy for Christmas. They don’t know that it came in a box originally, and they don’t care because they just want the toy.
As well as second-hand sites you can get free sites on Facebook where people give some really great stuff away for free. This is great because it keeps it out of the landfill.
